Justus Cox, a 4th grade teacher at New Prospect Elementary in Anderson, is a man of faith, family and community.  Mr. Cox is a graduate of Anderson University and a member of the Call Me MISTER program that helps to increase the pool of available teachers from a broader, more diverse background.

In 2013, Justus was awarded with the Roy Jones Director Award for his hard work, dedication and service during his internship with Call Me MISTER and in 2016 he was awarded with the Upstate Diversity Leadership Award for Outstanding College Student by the Riley Institute.

Recently, Mr. Cox was also awarded with the Emerging Leader Community Award from the Anderson County United Way African American Leadership Society.  Justus is very passionate about education, both in and out of the classroom from a global perspective.  He believes that education is the key to discontinuing the many cycles that plagues families, communities and the education system as a whole.
