Nardia Lloyd is a Greenville county Special education teacher, at the Washington Center, a separate school facility for students with severe and profound intellectual disabilities. The Washington Center provides a unique educational setting for students with severe intellectual disabilities who often must also deal with medical, sensory and /or orthopedic challenges. With 14 years teaching experience, Nardia teaches high school students skills that will enable them to live as independently as possible and to enjoy learning and participating in family and community activities. Many of her students are nonverbal and require voice output devices (I pads) to communicate and participate during their daily lessons. Even though her students have disabilities she finds the joy in bringing out their abilities to their fullest potential, which supports their school motto Those you think cannot….Can!

Nardia is a native of Greenville, where she graduated from hillcrest high school and was a member of their 1999 championship woman’s soccer team. She later went on to play soccer at Western Carolina University and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2011 for her many soccer accolades. Outside of school, Nardia enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 boys. In her free time she is a fitness instructor at the Barre3 at Five Forks, where she leads clients through and hour long fitness class that incorporates strength training, cardio and mindfulness.
