Kate Middleton and Prince William's Plane Makes Emergency Landing

October 17, 2019

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are on their royal tour in Pakistan.

Middleton and Prince William had a scary experience on day four of their tour when their plane was forced to make an emergency landing.

ITV’s royal reporter Chris Ship, who was on the plane, tweeted, "After shaking around in the air, the RAF Voyager used for the #royalvisitPakistan turned around and has just landed back in Lahore (where we started).”

Another reporter on the plane posted a video of flashes of lightning seen from the plane window. She captioned the video, “Those big flashes are the RAF Voyager, carrying William, Kate and travelling media, going through lighting - two aborted landings at Islamabad due to the storm and we’re back in Lahore.”

Royal reporter Simon Perry wrote about his experience and said he saw the terrifying electrical storm as the plane tried to land at Islambad.

According to Hello Magazine, earlier in the day, William and Kate visited a government-run school in Islamabad. The couple met a couple of teenagers and talked about their aspirations from when they were younger. Both also took part in a cricket tournament while also visiting Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Center.

Kensington Palace said in a statement earlier this month, “Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will undertake an official visit to Pakistan between Monday 14th and Friday 18th October, at the request of The Foreign and Commonwealth Office.”
