USA Today

Join me in my weekly quest for great music. Over the past few years my ears have witnessed a dramatic change in hip-hop. Sometimes change can be good, but sometimes it can be really bad, and that's why I started this weekly review. Every week I will review newly released music giving you MY opinion if it's dope, or not.

The G.O.A.T is back!! On June 30, Mr. Shawn Corey Carter stepped down to lift the rap game back up. Jay-z broke the internet with his 13th solo album titled "4:44". It's been 4 long years since Jigga Man put out an album, and this one was perfect timing. The album addresses his personal life with Beyonce, Kanye West and just about everything that's going on in society. "4:44" the album includes songs like "The Story Of O.J", "4:44", "Kill Jay Z" and more instant classics. It also features Beyonce, Frank Ocean, Damian Marley and Gloria Carter. Producer "No I.D" delivered a sound I haven't heard seen "Reasonable Doubt". The lyrics are a wake-up call to Urban America. I give "4:44" 5 blocks. The tracklist is below.

1. Kill Jay Z

2. The Story of O.J.

3. Smile

4. Caught Their Eyes

5. 4:44

6. Family Feud

7. Bam

8. Moonlight

9. Marcy Me

10. Legacy
